Twomey Cellars primarily produces Merlot. All of the grapes come from a single Napa Valley vineyard, "The Soda Canyon Ranch." Opening in June 2003, Twomey has been producing great Merlot wines from the inherent quality of their grapes.

At only 10,000 cases per year, this winery can focus on quality and process. This winery uses the soutirage traditional approach to making wine used in Bordeux. Few other California wineries use this approach when making Merlot. This process helps soften the tannins in their merlot wines and brings out the major fruit characteristics. Twomey Cellars is located 2 miles south of Calistoga in Napa Valley across from Sterling Vineyards.
