With some of the first hand dug caves for ageing wines in 1885, Del Dotto Vineyards has been a pioneer in Napa Valley. As a producing of some of the finest wines Del Dotto has been award some of the top honors around the world. With a historic location as the Hedgeside Distillery Building makes Del Dotto's wine tasting tour an incredible experience. A vine-draped, stone-walled wine gallery and caves are seen at the Del Dotto Caves and Hedgeside Wine Gallery on Atlas Peak Road. In an ivy-covered, marble floored distillery building and in limestone caves from the same era, the Del Dotto winery offers an in-depth introduction to winemaking. A commonly used device used to take samples from barrels of wine––draws out samples of wines aged in a Missouri oak barrel, a Virginia oak barrel, a Troncias French oak barrel and a Nevers French oak barrel. On view is a collection of Chinese art, urns to tapestries, fanciful ironwork and contemporary paintings. Tours end with glasses of Del Dotto's hearty reds paired with chocolate truffles.
